The Agrarian is a new-build project in Whangārei designed for a young family seeking elegance and timelessness in their home. The client envisioned a barnyard aesthetic, featuring simple gabled forms, minimalist and durable building materials, and a palette of soft grey tones.

The design consists of two gabled roof buildings, a major and a minor, set perpendicular to each other with an enclosed link connecting the two. The major building houses the main living areas, with the lounge and kitchen/dining areas opening out to a large deck and pool. The minor building contains the main sleeping areas, with the master bedroom strategically positioned to overlook the main deck and pool. The design incorporates clear lines of sight through the space to the outside, with openings along both axes. Both the main living areas and the master suite feature vaulted ceilings, enhancing the sense of space and grandeur.

Surrounded by lush planting and landscaping, this farmhouse offers a tranquil retreat. The careful integration of the buildings with the natural surroundings creates a harmonious environment.
